I Graduated from Southampton University, having been awarded an LLB. I trained in Doncaster and was Admitted as a Solicitor in June, 1980. I am also a Notary Public. I have been a Partner of Towells for over 20 years. Apart from undertaking Trade Union work, I have been responsible for successfully pursuing over 20,000 Industrial Deafness Claims against the former British Coal Corporation. I have particular experience and expertise in handling Personal Injury and Industrial Disease Claims, to include Vibration White Finger. I was a Lead Solicitor in the British Coal Respiratory Disease Litigation and also had extensive involvement in handling Cases under the Claims Handling Agreement, British Coal Vibration White Finger Litigation. I have had the conduct of a great many Trials, ranging from Cases heard in the Local Courts to Appeal Hearings in the House of Lords. I derive particular satisfaction from the fact that the great majority of my work comes through “word of mouth” recommendations from former clients. I know only too well that if a client leaves my Office, believing that I have done a first class job, then his friends and neighbours are going to be my next clients.
Outside of work, I have a great many interests. I am a regular at our gymnasium. I am a keen skier. I continue to run on a regular basis, to include Half Marathons and 10ks. I greatly enjoy long distance walking in the Dales, Peak District and Lake District. I derive particular enjoyment from my holidays, both in this country and abroad.
